Setting your Steps.
The Google definition of the word Intention is “A thing intended. An aim or a plan.” By its very definition, an intention is something you would like to do, but have not done yet.
At this time of year, we may find ourselves looking back over the past 11 months retrospectively - with a degree of perspective. So much happens in a year – and some events at the time are all-consuming; whilst others seem small, but are still significant.
December is a wonderful month to set some clear intentions for your future; and begin to act on them, rather than waiting for the start of a new year. There is no time like today to begin making the changes that will add up to the outcome that you are looking for. And when January rolls around, you’ll have the days of December under your belt already, and have covered some ground.
An intention is something you’d like to do that results in a positive feeling or outcome. Support your intention by identifying the steps to help you get there. You may just need two or three, or as many as twenty – but setting them is the only way you’ll be able to move through them, towards your goal. You may identify a mis-step (and heaven forbid, even take it!) but a mis-step is still progress, and can be corrected by the next step… as long as you identify it.
Then, it’s a case of taking those steps, one day at a time, and keeping your end intention clear at all times.
Finally, trust time. If you have a good intention, have identified the necessary steps, and then taken them – you will arrive at your destination. You’ll deservedly feel accomplished, and ready to action your next intention.
Identify your intention, set your steps, cover ground, trust time and arrive accomplished. You’ve got this!
